Disabled But Not Defeated

Disabled But Not Defeated: A Civil Rights Movement

“From Chief Disruption Officer, Thomas Ryan Kennedy: This is an open-hearted call to the disability community. It’s time to rise up, speak out, and join us in taking action.”

Welcome to Disabled But Not Defeated—a raw, unfiltered civil rights movement built by people with disabilities and for people who are done with empty promises and systemic failures in disability rights. This isn’t just another awareness campaign. This is action. A rally cry. A data-backed, story-driven, no-BS push to hold systems accountable and enact real change—legal, societal, and personal.

We’re reframing the cultural lens on disability—being radically inclusive of all disabilities, visible and invisible—and pushing for clear, honest interpretations of the ADA. Because blaming disabled people for who we are? That’s over. We’re here to fight for equitable opportunities so every one of us can live the life we deserve.

We’re building a platform to:

  • Share real stories (and sometimes “fake news” satire) to process the deep, frustrating truth of disability bias and discrimination.

  • Amplify voices that are too often silenced or sidelined—visible and invisible disabilities, every identity, every age.

  • Mobilize a national march and push for modern reforms, because we all deserve dignity, access, and equity.

  • Get unapologetically loud, creative, and relentless—with action, data, advocacy, and art.

Here, we tell the truth—sometimes through Fake News stories that say what we wish we could say out loud in court, at work, about school, or to businesses without being punished. It’s storytelling as protest. As healing. As resistance.

We’re organizing a march. We’re collecting real stories. We’re calling out systemic bias, gaslighting, and inaction. We’re demanding real access, not just lip service. We’re bringing art, data, emotions, and strategy into one place—and we want you in it.

If you’ve ever felt like screaming into the void because the ADA was supposed to protect you but didn’t—welcome. If you’ve been dismissed because your disability isn’t “obvious”—you belong here. If you’ve been kicked out because your disability is “obvious”—you belong here. If you want to do something—write, speak, march, share, scream, or just feel seen—we’ve got you.

Read the stories. Write your own. Join the march. Help build the next chapter of civil rights in America.

Because we are Disabled. But we are NOT Defeated.
