Fake News: True Stories

Welcome to Fake News: True Stories

This is the newsroom where everything is technically fake—but every detail is true.

Fake News: True Stories is a creative processing space designed for people like me—and maybe you too—who have lived through exhausting, often invisible battles with bias, discrimination, and systemic failures. Whether it’s in healthcare, legal systems, workplaces, or everyday life, we face moments where, no matter how many protections the ADA promises, no matter how hard we fight or how right we are, it feels like the truth can’t get a fair hearing.

That’s where Fake News comes in.

We flip the script: we tell fictionalized stories with real facts. No slander, no lies—just a satirical, surreal reframe of reality that lets us express frustration, pain, and (hopefully) humor, all while staying legally and ethically sound. Think of it as a wild mashup of talk therapy, meds, CBT, DBT, EMDR, psychedelics, informed trauma and grief work, and creative visualization—all rolled into one irreverent, cathartic outlet.

This is a place to share your true stories, disguised in “fake” newsprint, to shed some light on the biases and barriers we keep smashing into—and to find a bit of relief in the process.

We’re not here to defame. We’re here to reclaim.

Got a story to tell? You’re in good company.
